Biggleswade is located about 40 miles north of London and to the south-west of Cambridge. It is served by the A1 and a mail line train station. It is thought to have been inhabited since 10,000 BC.

In Roman times, a loop road known as White Way passed through the town and Saxon invaders settled here in the 5th Century AD. The town was granted a charter to hold a market during the reign of King John and a market is still held in the market place in the centre of town every Saturday.
When the Great Northern Railway opened in 1850, Biggleswade became the only Bedfordshire town to have a mainline station. The town has branches of all four of the major banks

Sandy lies between Cambridge and Bedford. It is well known as the home of the RSPB. Further north up the A1 we find Tempsford, Great Barford and Wyboston all of which are situated by the River Ouse. To the south are the towns of Arlesey and Stotfold.
