Sharnbrook is situated 9 miles north of Bedford. It dates back to Saxon times and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. This picturesque village is home to a Lower School as well as the Sharnbrook Upper School which serves the North Beds area. Pictured here is the Sharnbrook Mill Theatre on the banks of the River Ouse.

Felmersham & Radwell are almost encircled by the River Ouse which floods two or three times every year cutting off the approach from both north and south. Felmersham bridge has stood solid since it was built in the early 19th century and the village boasts a parish church featuring Early English architecture.
To the north and north-east of Bedford are situated the North Bedfordshire Wolds. The villages here, Colmworth, Ravensden and Thurleigh nestle is softly undulating countryside that seems far removed from the urbanity of South Beds. Colmworth church, built in Norman times, can be seen for miles.

Situated between Harrold and Odell is a beautiful, award winning, country park. The north of Bedfordshire has many beautiful villages and is famous for it's many country walks. The River Ouse snakes it's way throughout the area and the area is home to many windmills and water mills.
