Shefford is a small town situated mid-way between Ampthill and Biggleswade. Still pretty much unspoilt, it has various pubs, restuarants and take aways plus it's own brewery.

Shefford also has a small supermarket, car dealers, a bank, a bakers and several other independent shops giving the town a more countryside feel. Around the local area you will find plenty of small villages that provide rural charm.
Nearby Old Warden is home to the world famous Shuttleworth Collection of vintage airplanes and cars. Regular shows are held here with as many planes as possible being restored to fly.

Just to the west of the town is Chicksands. This was the site of RAF Chicksands which was used as an American base. It is now home to the Mid Bedfordshire District Council who have moved into a new, purpose built building on the former sports field. It is also home to Chicksands Priory, a monastic house built in 1120.
